An Eye Bank registered under EBAI was started for the first time at Prasad Netralaya to promote eye donation and treat patients suffering from corneal blindness.
Prasad Netralaya began to be known not only as an eye hospital but also as an institution with Fellowship Training Programs for Ophthalmic Postgraduate students.

One of the greatest years in his life, when he opened a one-stop eye care hospital in his hometown. Prasad Netralaya was no longer a small clinic, it had now become a super specialty eye hospital — with separate departments for each part of the eye.
Founded the Udupi District Ophthalmic Society (UDOS). As the founder-secretary, he worked to create a bond with and strengthen his ophthalmic fraternity.
